Introduction
The headshot has had a lot of folklore around it. Being an actor myself, I went into my headshot session with such panic and dread, it took the entire three hours to get a shot where I felt myself. While the headshot can be important for one's career, at the end of the day, it's a picture of your face. My approach to our session is to make you as comfortable as possible so you can allow that person to shine through. No stress or magic. Just two humans hanging out.

Plan
When you schedule your session, I will reach out to one of my incredible hair and makeup artists and we will coordinate a day that works us. I will then send a contract with information with a prep sheet for your shoot. This includes clothing and style tips etc. When you arrive, we will set out your looks, get you in hair and makeup, and then begin shooting. I review shots as I go so there will be communication with you as the session progresses. From there, I will narrow shots down, upload them, and send a link to you. You will have full access and be able to download these images instantly so picking out your retouches will be easier and you can send to friends or representation. Once you send me your selected retouches, I'll take a few days and send them back to you. Here's an example of a few retouches below.
Group Discount
Book with a co-worker or friend and receive an additional discount.*
* Please note that if booking as a group, a deposit is required before sessions begin.
** For a group larger than 6, please email for a flat rate quote.
Discount For Women Of Color
I understand that for black women, changing hairstyles is not easily done within the time of a session. Instead of shooting a full day with one hair style, I will shoot two half days for the price of one full day (does not include one look package or hair and makeup for both days). The second session must be booked within a month of the first session.
Hair and Makeup
Hair and makeup is really vital in getting great shots. I work closely with a few incredible makeup artists:

Beginning from clients arrival. Typically sessions begin at 10AM and end around 1:30PM or 2PM and end around 6PM.
A look is changing a background. Sometimes a shirt doesn't work with the background. It won't count as a look. Changing lighting from theatrical to commercial would be a different look.
Once the client has chosen his or her photos, the selected final images will be retouched at no additional charge. This means skin blemishes, some stray hair, & brightening/darkening to bring focus. This does not mean changing hair styles, elongating body parts, getting rid of buildings or background distractions. This would fall under the heavy retouching and would require an additional cost.
Images are uploaded via Dropbox and will be kept there for a year.
The client is released the photos and is able to use them for his or her own promotional work
$30/image. If you purchase an extra 3, $25/image. If you purchase an extra 5 or more, $20/image.
Typically, it can range anywhere from 45 - 90 min. That said, if your session starts at 10AM and you’re finished with HMU at 11:30, your session time will not begin until 11:30 so you can expect to leave around 2:30/3:30.
I get it. I’ve taken the classes where the teachers tell you to get vibes from your photographers. While I understand where they’re coming from, I don’t usually go out for coffee with potential clients. However, I am definitely available for a Zoom or phone chat.
